After gaining an honours degree in woven and related textiles fifty years ago I became a professional artist designer and became an approved exhibitor with the Royal Horticultural Society. The passion for drawing and painting from nature has never left me.
Thirty years of teaching painting and drawing in further education establishments here and abroad has enabled me to see what students most need, providing simple approaches that have enabled even the most hard core members of the “I cant draw” brigade to astonish themselves with how good they really are.

Extraordinary Experiences

A life changing series of crises brought me into new levels of understanding of the importance of imagery and why the artistic process can be so healing.
After gaining Art Therapy and Counseling qualifications I developed, and am the founder of the therapeutic approach to personal recovery Self-Referencing-IITM where we use inner generated imagery in order to access different aspects of ourselves and our lives in order to create greater understanding and personal change on a very deep level.

Collectors Choice

In 1975 I became interested in Lace-making and started the first modern hand painted lace bobbins.
Initially I thought it impossible to paint anything of any significance on such a small curved surface, yet I am still painting miniatures on them today! They are in private collections all around the world. After four years in Brussels studying lace I wrote the now standard textbook on making Flanders Lace.
